Skipper Nigel and his Wife, Fiona, welcome you aboard Kingfisher!
Kingfisher is a 25 ft ex-fishing boat, now certified to take passengers as a charter vessel.
Nigel and Fiona have both lived and worked in Newlyn and the surrounding areas for all of their lives and have many interesting, funny and sometimes sad stories to tell about the history and lives of the local characters and further back into folklore.
Nigel has over 35 years of experience as a Fisherman, both locally and further afield, most recently on his own punt as a day Fisherman.
His knowledge of the history of the coast and its wildlife is extensive and He loves nothing more than sharing his experiences and wisdom with people! Many of our local points of interest can be seen on land but we are offering you the opportunity to see a different side! You’ll hear stories of local heroes, villains and all things in between.
While you are on board with us you may see Common dolphins, Risso’s dolphins, common seals, grey seals, more species of sea bird than we can count and an abundance of various fish species. On a particularly good day there may even be a sighting of one of the lesser spotted sea creatures that inhabit the local waters, maybe a Minke whale or some Tuna!
Our aim is to offer a factual, fun-filled coastal experience for all of our guests, young and old and we will do our best to provide all you could want from a coastal tour, providing the wildlife plays along!

Or how about our boat taxi service? Start your trip from our departure point in Newlyn, enjoy a leisurely cruise to either Mousehole or Penzance, and go ashore for a spot of lunch or shopping before coming back aboard Kingfisher for the return journey to Newlyn.
